Furch Guitars is releasing a series of guitar models featuring their new “Bevel Duo” ergonomic design.
The Bevel Duo design features a bevel on both the front and back of the guitar. The front bevel provides great comfort for the picking arm, while the back bevel provides greater comfort for the player’s body.
“A bevel is one of the most complicated manufacturing operations possible in the production of acoustic guitars. Even more complicated is to apply this to both the top and back. This is why most guitar makers only bevel the top plate. But we have decided to apply it on the back plate as well, and the result is really outstanding. Bevel Duo allows players to play all-out for extended periods without negatively affecting their comfort,”
states Petr Furch, CEO of Furch Guitars.
Bevel designs are not new, but have too often been only available on custom-designed, very expensive, or very back-ordered models.
Having an “off-the-shelf”, premium-quality guitar with fingerstyle-oriented features like this is good news. Especially since Furch’s prices, though not low, are attainable for most serious players.
The ergonomic Bevel Duo feature will be standard on all new Red Deluxe models
starting in January 2020 and will also be available as a custom option for the entire
Rainbow Series line. We look forward to seeing what pricing will be like to customize, say, they’re “Blue Master’s Choice” guitar, which is their entry-level model.
