Looking for fingerstyle guitar tabs? There are a LOT of sites, stores, and blogs to sort through online. Here are the top sites and apps to get accurate fingerstyle guitar tabs. (There are some excellent free options, as well as paid options.)
The simplest way to find fingerstyle guitar tab for a particular song is, of course, to Google the song title plus the phrase “guitar tab”. If you have a particular song in mind, that’s the fastest way to go.
If you’re looking for more than one song, though, it’s harder to find a good collection of tabs. You could reference a list of fingerstyle songs and just go searching for the tabs, but that still doesn’t give you a trusted source that you can reliably visit in the future when you want to find even more songs.
So here are the top ten sites for accessing fingerstyle guitar tabs:
The Top 5 Fingerstyle Guitar Tab Sources
1. UltimateGuitar.com
UltimateGuitar.com has been around for a long time and has a great community of guitarists who contribute, comment on, and edit tablature on the site. The site is completely free.
2. Amazon.com
As the biggest source of books online (including music books), Amazon is the easiest place to find collections of fingerstyle guitar tablature produced by actual publishers. If you’re looking for tabs by a particular artist (say, Paul Simon or Leo Kottke), then this is an easy place to find a collection of tab.
3. GuitarCenter.com
Guitar Center is famed for their physical “brick’n’mortar” locations, complete with walls of guitars and entire rooms dedicated to acoustic, drums, etc. But they also have a great website that rivals Amazon for music-specific publications. If, like many people, you’re suffering from “Amazon fatigue”, and would rather hand your money to an actual music store when you buy a music book, then definitely check out Guitar Center’s site.
4. Guitar Lesson Sites
Another alternative is to get tabs directly from the artists themselves as they teach lessons. Lessons sites like Truefire and Jamplay have extensive video lessons from fingerstyle artists, where the tab for their songs is included (and demo’ed!) right there in the lessons. Notable examples inlcude:

[…] Fingerstyle guitar is similar. Instead of combining letters into words, we combine chords and picking patterns. First you start off learning the chord shapes. And you go through the sheer grit repetitiveness of practicing fingerpicking patterns. But once you have those small parts in place, it becomes easy to combine them into the style of playing that we call “fingerpicking” or “fingerstyle” guitar. […]
